The Deacon’s ministry assists the Pastor in the spiritual oversight of the Church and give support to the Church at-large as needs arise. The Deacon’s mission is to include the sick and shut-in in the life and activities of the Church, to uplift the Pastor and church in prayer, lead our weekly prayer meetings, and to serve the congregation.
The Deaconess’ Ministry is to support the Church’s mission and the Pastor and
assist the Deacons in helping members meet the challenges they face daily: including sickness, bereavement, unemployment, financial hardships, and other issues. The ministry’s intended purpose is to offer continued spiritual support to the sick and the bereaved families of the church on a regular basis.
The Trustee ministry is responsible for the physical well-being of all church facilities and assets, counting and maintaining accurate records of the church’s financial resources, and oversees all church expenditures, acquisitions, and contractual obligations. The Trustees supervises the work of our maintenance staff whose purpose is to provide building maintenance and physical upkeep of the church building.
The Sunday School ministry is responsible and oversees the Christian Education of the church. This ministry ensures that our parishioners are constantly studying the Word of God and maintaining secret and family devotion.
The Usher Board is responsible for maintaining order and decorum in our various worship services. The Ushers assist with seating congregants, aids those in need while in worship, and prepares the sanctuary before and after service.
The Pilgrim Missionary ministry works to aid those in the community and in the city with the various needs they may have. It is their mission to help those in need and ensure that the mission of the church is upheld outside of the four walls of the church.
The Media Ministry oversees our Sunday’s technological operation and presentation. They are solely responsible for audio, video, and livestreaming during our worship services.
The Willing Workers Ministry oversees special projects within the church. They are directly responsible for beautifying the campus, renovating specific areas within the church, and preparing and serving meals for certain church functions. They avail themselves to do and be whatever the church needs of them.
Our Youth Ministry exists to bring our youth and children into relationship with Jesus Christ. It is the job of the Youth Ministry to highlight the needs for a connection with God, and nurture that connection so that they can be productive citizens in their life.
The First Aid Unit oversees the basic life support and first aid procedures needed in case of an emergency. They are tasked with ensuring that individuals who become ill while in church get the care and attention they need.
The Hospitality Ministry exists to provide a welcoming environment of love by engaging with our visitors. It is the Hospitality Ministry’s mission to ensure that all members, visitors, and guests are greeted to enhance our worship experiences and to help build a community of believers within the church.
The Scholarship Committee exists to oversee our annual scholarship fund and to ensure the timely and fair disposition of said funds. The committee is charged with soliciting, procuring, and reviewing all scholarship applications to aid in the educational advancements of our youth
The goal of Zion Baptist Church’s Young Adult Ministry (YAM) is to exalt the Name of Jesus Christ through worship, spread love through fellowship, transform lives through acts of service, and spreading the gospel.
